• What is the proper overlap for the VLF-150 filter layer?

We recommend a 4" overlap. If you are worried about the integrity of the filter layer, we recommend increasing the overlap. In special cases it is possible to spot weld the sheets along their laps with a hot air gun.

• How long can the products be stored outside, exposed to sunlight?

VLF-200 geotextiles are UV stabilized against sunlight, however it is not recommended to stored, or exposed them to sunlight for more than 4 weeks. The aging of the rolls packaging signs the expiration of the storage period at the given conditions

• How high should this layer be drawn up over the waterproofing on vertical surfaces?

This fleece should fully cover the waterproofing layer, and it’s position should be secured sufficiently by growing media or other ballast. On the vertical surfaces where the geotextile is left exposed, we recommend securing by mechanical means and covering the material with flashing

• Are the VLF geotextiles root-resistant?

Roots are meant to grow through the layers where water filtrates, and by intertwining, the roots strengthen the entire system. Over time mature root growth helps maintain the stability of the system

• Does a VL layer have to be joined to the layer below it?

No, but it should be weighted against wind uplift if left exposed.
