DIADEM-350 is a semi-intensive type of green roof, typically with 12" buildup over the membrane and 72 lbs/sqf saturated weight. It comes with a wide range of perennials and groundcovers, decreasing the maintenance cost compared to roof lawns. Irrigation is common, and regular maintenance is required. It is ideal for inverted roof construction as its insulation layer provides the additional roof membrane protection .

In this type of roof garden design, the waterproofing membrane benefits from the additional protection of the inverted roof's insulation.
